VIALAND: The Happiest Place in Istanbul

I'm back from a 3 week vacation in Turkey and will hopefully blog regularly from now on. You know this is my 3rd time to visit Turkey and I have blogged about different tourist spots in Istanbul and other cities before. First topic this time is Vialand, the happiest place in Istanbul. Well, not really the happiest place for me 'cause I'd rather go shopping at the entrance mall than ride the scary roller coaster or watch the 4D shows, but it is the happiest for my 2 daughters and all the kids who visit this theme park everyday. So, for the sake of my daughters' happiness, hubby and I granted their wishes of riding this and that for a couple of times. Like, yeah, really.. we visited Vialand in Istanbul for 2 different occasions.

With my mother-in-law, taken during our first visit. The weather was fine at around 17 degrees.

Our first ride was the carousel located right at the entrance.

This is my elder daughter's favorite attraction. We've seen this place 4 times!

A collage of some of the rides at the park and photo op with one of the characters.

The baba and daughter tandem worked really well.

This was at the tiny village during our 2nd visit. The weather was sunny at around 22 degrees.

There are more attractions, shows, and rides at Vialand not mentioned in this post. Other than Captian Gaga, Vialand's mascot, they also feature familiar cartoon characters like Spongebob and Dora. Theme park is open on weekdays from 10:00 to 18:00 and 10:00 to 20:00 on weekends. Before visiting Vialand and purchasing park tickets, check their website first for an announcement of an existing promo. Some days could be very crowded with both local and foreign park-goers. The 2nd time we went there, there were hundreds pf students in an organized field trip. To avoid the queue to each ride, choose fast pass. A fast pass ticket allows you to go ahead of the regular line. For more information, visit www.vialand.com.tr.
