There are 3 major procedures to follow in making this meatball recipe. First is to prepare the meatballs, second is to cook the filling, and lastly is to ready the topping. Here are the list of ingredients.
For the Meatballs:
300 grams ground meat (either pork, meat, beef or combination)
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 small carrot, shredded1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
1 red onion, finely chopped
3 cloves of garlic, grated
1 large egg, beaten
1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
salt to taste
For the Mashed Potato Filling:
4 medium sized potatoes, boiled and mashed
1 white onion, chopped
2 tbsp butter
For the Topping:
2 cups grated mozzarella cheese
4 tbsp tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
-Combine all the ingredients for the meatballs. Mix well.
-Form into small bowls. Arrange in a baking dish. Bake for 8 minutes. Set aside.
-Saute onions in butter until light brown. Add mashed potatoes. Mix well.
-Fill each meatballs with mashed potatoes then top it with cheese.
-Mix tomato sauce with water, then drench the meatballs with the mixture.
-Bake the meatballs for 5 more minutes or until the cheese melted. Serve.
