What I wore: top from SM, scarf from Istanbul, Zara bag, Apostrophe pants (gift from a friend) and Primadonna caged heels.
Last week at an event in Peninsula Manila, I wore heels again that are 3 inches in height. So far, no back pains or uncomfortable feeling. Soon my tummy will grow bigger and bigger and there will no more heels for me. In Istanbul, I have 2 pairs of Zara ballet flats waiting for me. I ordered it from my brother-in-law during the end of season sale. A pair was just a little over 600 Php and they have this genuine leather material. I am excited to wear them and comfortably go on tour!
Going back to wearing heels, I once saw a sexy mommy who was around 6 months pregnant while visiting my OB. Truthfully, I was amazed by her and how confident she walked in stilettos. I know some doctors would not recommend wearing high heels during pregnancy. They say pregnant women increase in weight and the body's central gravity changes. Both mother and the baby might be in danger in case of falling.
Celebrities like Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Hilary Duff, Nicole Richie, and Heidi Klum were all seen sporting heels during their pregnancy. That's the way they do it in Hollywood but in reality, is it really okay to wear heels with a huge belly? Have you tried it yourself? Isn't it painful to your legs or back?

I think it is safe depending on the length of time wearing it. the doctors maybe, are not recommending wearing high heeled shoes because of the dangers of falling. When I was pregy, I did not wear heels because I am too clumsy! :(
ReplyDeleteAko naman sis sabi ko, I will wear heels basta kaya ko pa. Pero siguro pag malaki na ang tiyan like sa next trimester ko.. hindi na talaga di ba?
DeleteIt will depend on how heavy you feel and the type of heels. I think the main consideration in wearing heels is the balance and safety for the mom. As long as you feel comfortable, I guess it's ok.
ReplyDeleteI think I wore heels below 3 inches during my 8th month of pregnancy when I was coordinating my cousin's wedding... and was walking around all day from church to reception!
Wow.. galing mo sis! My brother is getting married this summer and I'm thinking of not wearing heels. Hmm.. I think yeah, it will depend on how heavy I feel. Thanks! :)
DeleteGla-mo-rous! Go lang basta carry!
ReplyDeleteHaha. You are right. Thank you! :)
DeleteI am not into wearing high heels shoes, I guess it depends on the person if she is comfortable on wearing high heels shoes during her pregnancy. she is adult enough to know the risks involves.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been pregnant yet. But I agree that it really depends on the preggy woman if she loves wearing heels and if she can "carry" it through :)
ReplyDeleteI think it will depend on the preggy mom, if carry ... why not :) doctors and most people often don't recommend wearing heels for fear of imbalance and scary fall. Anyway, just be safe always.
ReplyDeleteWell, heels or no heels you look ah-mazing! :)
ReplyDeleteWhatever shoes you're wearing, take care and enjoy your pregnancy! :)
ReplyDeleteI think it has something to do with balance given the additional weight during pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteWearing heels as the medical world says could pose a risk for danger in pregnancy especially in those women with placental and bleeding problems. These examples were celebrities and they have no choice but to look good and stunning. For an average woman or those who are nor professionally linked to maintaining beauty and style, why not sacrifice a little for their baby? Life or style?
ReplyDeleteI'm really very happy for you. :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I can't really answer your question since I never got pregnant (not yet at least). One thing's for sure, I'll wear heels even when with a huge belly. :)
As long as you have no pregnancy risks, its okay to wear heels! :) Its a misconception that it's bad. Its about balance lang :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's ok. Coz it's only you who can tell kung kaya ng body or not. I never fall when I wear heels, when I was pregnant I didnt feel any different wearing heels kesa nung hindi ako pregnant.
ReplyDeleteI think that it's okay to wear heels during the first trimester. I guess not so much on the second and third as it can be a danger and uncomfortable for those whose feet get edematous. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who wore heels while she was pregnant, but for special occasions lang and important meetings. Then she switches to flats on a regular day. Actually this goes not just for the pregnant women lang naman, if you wear heels kasi, nagiiba yung circulation ng blood kaya nagkakalines and all. Buti nalang ako I always bring flats kaya medyo ligtas pa from having feet na super kita na yung veins :)
