PFW Holiday 2012: Jian Lasala for Ready to Wear Collection

I thought I'll never get to watch any show of Philippine Fashion Week due to my long summer vacation. Feeling lucky, I scored invites from a couple of designers and a local brand. I was able to catch a total of 3 shows and took almost 500 photos. The whole things was exhausting, thinking of what to wear to the shows, battling the traffic to SMX Convention Center and back, and staying up late but it's all worth it. I got to see new people and realized a few good things about Philippine brands and designers. For the first good thing, let me share to you Jian Lasala's designs for the Ready to Wear Collection.




Jian Lasala's aesthetic is extreme minimalism.



Hence, the plain color and the very simple design.



Less is more in fashion.



Like what Leonardo da Vinci once said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”

Miss Philippines-Earth 2012 Winners

Manila, Philippines -- The newly crowned Miss Philippines-Earth 2012 is Stephany Dianne Stefanowitz of Quezon City. The coronation took place at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasig City on Sunday. The 22 year old designer, freelance model, host and singer once dreamed to take home the title of Miss Philippines-Earth 2012. Now that she owns the title, she'll be competing internationally for Miss Earth 2012 in Indonesia which will be held on October 28, 2012.

SM Ladies' Fashion Holiday 2012 Collection

If there's a place where I always, always shop for clothes.. that's only SM. I mean, I also go to boutiques and branches of both local and international brands, but SM Department Store has more affordable choices for me. Anyway, here are my personal picks from SM Ladies' Fashion Holiday 2012 Collection with top fashion bloggers on the runaway.



Camille Co's sleeveless white top and polka dot ensemble and Patricia Prieto's dress with lace lining are screaming retro.



I have to say these tops Laureen Uy and Lissa Kahayon are wearing reminds me of Marc Jacobs Collection for Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2012.



Pastel colors, mullet skirts, sheer fabrics and florals are still in. Yay, I would like to have those pale orange top and yellow platforms.



Here are some maxi dresses in bold and bright color for the beach. You know, it's always summer here in the Philippines! :)



More must-haves for the holidays is that tailored jacket and electric pleated skirt. Pang Kate Middleton ang peg. Hey, those cobalt blue trousers that Pauline Prieto (Patricia's sister) is wearing look pretty stylish too.



And the scarf dresses in fun colors are here. I love them both. They'll be perfect for year-end parties.



Still stripes, laces and sheers. Don't you adore that finale dress Ria Bolivar is wearing? Bravo SM Ladies'!

The RAMP Crossings Holiday 2012 (Ladies)

On the first day of Philippine Fashion Week, The RAMP Crossings Holiday 2012 collections showcased clothes with sheer fabric, side splits, cut out shoulders, peplum and feathered skirts. Models wore sky-high shoes with animal prints and accessories in solid metal.

Sale Find: Orange Skinny Jeans

I really wanted a pastel yellow pair of jeans. I found one in a nearby mall but it was not available in my size. Disappointed and discouraged, I grabbed the same design in an orange color. Ugh, I know I am sometimes impatient like that. Good thing it made a good fit and I paid it with an affordable price. The iPanema Urban Jungle Collection

This is a review iPanema Urban Jungle Collection which was seen on iPanema's fashion show at Boni High Street a few weeks ago. The collection is a mix of lovely, classic, Mediterranean, tropical, romantic and premium designs. I already have 3 pairs of iPanema flip-flops in my closet, but I guess I'm adding another pair soon!
