I am not Chinese and I don't really believe in things like this. I was just curios. Anyway, blessings come to those who deserve it right? I mean okay, your horoscope says 2012 is most favorable to you when it comes to money, but that doesn't mean you won't do anything and just wait for cash to come to your door. In Filipino, "Nasa Diyos ang awa, nasa tao ang gawa". Same thing with health, relationship, etc. One needs to work for it.

Today is the last day of January, the first month of the new year. I have planned some things, set some goals and started to work. How about you? Have a blessed new year to one and all! :)

Mini Cooper: Driving is Just Cute

At EDSA, on my way SMX Convention center to attend the iPanema fashion show last year, I saw this blue car which caught a lot of commuter's attention. I don't know a lot of things about wheels, so I ask hubby about its model and I was told that it's the iconic mini cooper. I believe this one is vintage, but the owner might have customized it already.

Last night while on the way home, I spotted this vintage mini cooper again parked outside a store near our place. I saw him a couple of times before, however I was not lucky to have my camera with me.

In Philippines showbiz, actress Angelica Panganiban is famous with the mini cooper that was given to her by model/ actor boyfriend Derek Ramsey as an anniversary gift back in 2009. It was a yellow mini cooper car which Angelica named as "Baby James". That time, her mini probably costed over a million already. Oh well, what a very lucky pretty girl.
Now back to me, I still do not know how to drive and I don't think I would want to drive ever. If am only as brave as those drivers who run through EDSA, racing with buses, taxis and jeepneys. If only I have the guts, then I guess I will drive not just mini cars, I will also push myself in driving bigger cars like this Hyundai Tucson which I saw at Kotsebook.com. Cars are just too cute sometimes, right?

Hello ladies! It is has been a lazy week for me. Lazy because I had problem with my files and couldn't fix it, so decided to be a couch potato and had a marathon of Turkish movies. Well, no more problem now that's why I am back to blogging. Now look at these sweets. I know I have to watch my diet but they are very much tempting!

 Hubby bought this the other day. This is one of Dunkin' Donuts newest premium donut.My daughter and I shared bites but we couldn't even finish it.If I remember it right, I think hubby said he paid P46 for this donut.

My yummy champorado or chocolate pudding with evaporated milk on top.I have to slowly finish the glutinous rice I got from the province,so I cooked this for breakfast. The little one loves this so much.


Then, hubby bought a cake BreadTalk AGAIN!This one's called chocolate passion.Like the Snowy Mountain cake, this cake also costs P600.
Later today, I am gonna be attending a couple of parties. You know in parties, sweets are always present. Very bad 'cause I'm trying to have a slimmer figure for my early summer vacation this February. What should I do? Like is too short to deprive yourself of things that's keeping you feel in love.. chocolates!!
Note: In moderation please. If you have a whole cake, slices it into small pieces and eat part by part. Have a sweet weekend everyone!!!

Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Doubles Showdown Final 5

I watched Survivor Philippines since the 1st season and until now, the Celebrity Doubles Showdown Season 4. I like Survivor Philippines so much because every episode is exciting. Each immunity challenge, reward challenge and tribal council is worth watching.




From a total of 10 celebrity couples or 20 castaways, last night, the final 5 were finally revealed. KC, Stef, Mara, Maey and Betong were left after Arnold of the Philippine Volcanoes was voted out.
On Mara: I totally agree with Stef when she said Survivor is not the place to fall in love. Poor Mara. She kinda reminds me of Jeff Gaitan from Season 2 who had a mutual understanding with her fellow castaway, Marvin Keiffer. The guy is cute and sweet so I couldn't blame Jeff. But Arnold? No!
On Stef: She is doing good. I mean, she works while in the shelter, pushes to her ability on challenges and votes wisely on tribal councils. Others call her maarte, I think she can possibly make it until the final 3.
On Maey: I can't believe this girl. She showed a lot of strength in immunity challenges and finally beaten Arnold with the balancing of pole challenge. She is just too kind that she gave back the immunity bracelet to Mara. Tsk tsk tsk!
On Betong: Very funny guy and lovable castaway too. A lot of people sympathize to this guy especially when he wanted to win a reward challenge for his very sick friend but lost it to Arnold. He didn't win anything yet, but let's see 'cause he might be a part of the final 3.
On KC: After Geneva decided to quit Survivor, KC moved on, played even without a double. I think it was better that way. His game is simple and he is also one of the most loved among the castaways. He stands as a threat to his fellow castaways but I guess his reputation as an good player will be able to take him to the final 3.
Among the five, I think I would want either KC or Maey to win as the sole survivor. Let's see!

A red pashmina and a traditional blue Turkish scarf.I requested my brother-in-law to buy these for me.They're light so they can be worn anytime of the year.
A small evil eye bracelet, reminds me of the Turkish Grand Bazaar.
Then, hubby bought this evil eye pendant as replacement to my flower pendant.Remember I wished for a J pendant? Well, I changed my mind and asked for this instead.He also bought another item (something more valuable), but I chose not to post a photo here.Thanks to my sweet hubby. I consider this his advance Valentine gift.

Some Treats and Pampering

So busy these days. I am always out to run errands and everything. Luckily, I was able to squeeze my time for some shopping and pampering. I got my hair trimmed and treated at David's Salon.

And, some beauty products and cosmetics. Hubby requested for those bottles of Watson's Body Wash and cotton buds. Then, I emptied my Maybelline Lip Gloss so I just needed a new one. I know you know I already switched back to Nivea, but this weather is making my skin look and feel more terrible. While there is no doubt Nivea Body Milk and Nivea Hand Age Defying Q10 Plus work pretty good on me, I just have to buy A Bonne Spa Milk and Olay Total Effects again. These are two of my old favorite beauty products that work miraculously on my face and skin. Perhaps, I'll always use them from now on.

I created this post to show my support to the Department of Tourism (DOT) with their "It's More Fun in the Philippines"campaign. As a Filipino citizen, I felt the need in promoting it and telling other people about how good of a country this is. I know Philippines is not perfect and has a lot of flaws, but bottom line is, it is the only country that I have!

Last year, our family traveled local but also went abroad twice. This 2012, we are planning to have a short vacation to places like Cebu, Romblon (my province), Boracay and Vigan. I hope the list doesn't stop there though. Besides, tickets can be very cheap like that P1 base fare that I was able to get from Cebu Pacific. We'll see if we can maximize all the holiday of this year and have more fun here in the Philippines!

"Bourne Legacy" to Shoot in the Philippines

We all know the famous Bourne film Series starring Matt Damon. There's The Bourne Identity in 2002, The Bourne Supremacy in 2004, and The Bourne Ultimatum in 2007. Now good new because the 4th part is coming which is called The Bourne Legacy. Another good news it that 25% of it will be filmed here in the Philippines. Francis Tolentino, chairman of  Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that the film production chose to shoot here. Shooting will be held in Binondo, San Andres, Intramuros and former Nagtahan Bridge, now Mabini Bridge in Manila. Other shooting locations include Navotas fish port, EDSA-Pasay-Taft, Marikina Market, R. Magsaysay Blvd, and Ayala Avenue.

Tolentino said a long car chase scene is being planned along Taft Avenue in Pasay City.
“The movie will be shown worldwide. Its best that we clean the area first before filming,” said Tolentino. 

Since areas will be transformed into a movie sets, Tolentino said he will advise motorists for any road closures, intermittent traffic delays and use of alternate routes for motorists and pedestrians. 

The Bourne Legacy is a spy fiction thriller that stars Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz, and Edward Norton. 

Meanwhile, the Manila City Government has set guidelines for an international movie company to observe while shooting several scenes the "The Bourne Legacy."
In a letter to the Philippine producer of the “Bourne Legacy,” Nikolo Juban, last Tuesday, Secretary to the Mayor Rafaelito Garayblas said the city has granted their request to temporarily close to vehicular traffic several areas in Manila.

These areas include portions of San Andres St. from January 11 to 15; J. Bocobo corner Remedios streets, January 18 and 19; Leveriza Street, from Balingkit to San Andres, January 15; San Andres corner Quirino and Taft Avenue, January 14); Riverside Road, Real and Sta. Lucia Streets in Intramuros, January 25 and February 17 and 18; Jones Bridge, February 5; and Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard, February 8 to 15.

The Bourne Legacy is said to be released in August of this year. I am sure a lot of people will queue for it in theaters including me and hubby. Well, there is a chance for me to see the shooting but I don't know. Who wants to go with me? :)

Hello New Year!

The midnight of December 31, 2011 was the loudest ever.

We normally spend the holidays esp. New Year in the province.

There was a change of plan, so this time we stayed in the city.

As usual, I prepared different kinds of food for media noche.

The night was very colorful.
Firecrackers were non-stop.
Various fireworks display until midnight.

Mandaluyong and Makati skyline 5 minutes before the New Year.
And, this is the photo of the morning after.. polluted city!Look at that, Makati is no longer visible.The smog was so thick that I couldn't see the skyscrapers anymore.We shut all of our windows almost all day.Most of us did not go out until 3 in the afternoon.
