One of the hottest trends this season is wayfarer sunglasses. Correct me if I am wrong, I believe this trend started in 1950's and was popularized by celebrities like Michael Jackson, Tom Cruise, Ana Wintour, and many others. A lot of brands in the eyewear industry create amazing collections of sunglasses, but wayfarer is the current obsession of celebrities and fashionistas here and abroad. It is in demand even to fashion bloggers in creating that vintage look similar to Audrey Hepburn and Madonna.
Wayfarer glasses are characterized by its solid frame.
This wayfarer is two-toned. Perfect for the ladies.
Improve your casual t-shirt and jeans attire by wearing this design.
I am honestly not a sunglasses type of person. In fact, I only have a single pair of sunglasses in my closet. With that confession, I think you can "boo" me now. Haha. Anyway, I think I just can't decide whether I'll buy one expensive wayfarer at a mall or order an affordable one online. I want something two-toned with glasses that aren't too dark. My budget is $25 or less.
Have you been sporting wayfarer sunglasses? Purchased it online or offline? Tell me about your experience.
I finished my college degree at the University of Makati, formerly known as Pamantasan ng Makati, located in West Rembo, Makati City. This year, I'm enrolled again at the same university to finish Certificate in Teaching. I could've enrolled in a different school, but I didn't want to waste the 12 units I took in 2004. Thanks to the good dean of College of Arts, Sciences and Education. I need 12 more units plus practicum then I'm done with the Teacher Certificate Program!
The Health and Physical Science Building. This is where I attend all my classes.
A shot from inside the building with the view of a university shuttle bus.
The "B" sign. You think it's "B" for Binay? No, it "B" for bayan they say.
My classes are usually at the 5th and 6th levels, but no, I am not a nursing student! :)
The manong guard's corner. Looks like a front desk of a certain hotel huh?
We use these stairs if the elevators are too crowded.
First day of class. Students wait at the hallway of the 5th floor.
Let's check the washroom. Oh look, it's so clean!
It's a new building so everything is white and tidy.
It feels like home. Wish all public toilets are as clean as this.
No littering please. Put your trash in the trash bin.
What I wore for the first day of school: Zara flats, leather bag from Istanbul, Miley Cyrus wetlook leggings, Guess watch and checkered button down from Surplus Store.
Spotted my favorite cousin at the 5th floor. She's taking up Psychology at the same university.
So why go to school again? Why take Certificate in Teaching? Honestly, I've done tutoring abroad, teaching in an a private school here in Manila and teaching to foreign students online all in a span of almost 5 years. With my experience, I think I can get employed easily again if I want to. However, I also believe that teaching is better if you have more knowledge in line with your expertise. May God help me because after taking up CT, I am planning to move to the next level, which is, of course, getting a master's degree.
That's it for tonight. I am not sure I can blog again soon. I will be busy working on my case study, journal, report, and other school work from now on. Till next time!
I noticed these giant billboards of Bench facing EDSA-Guadalupe on my way home from school last week. I tried to look closely until I recognized the new face of the clothing brand. It is Liam Hemsworth a.k.a. Gale Hawthorne of Hunger Games! I didn't have my camera that day, so I brought it with me today and took a few shots while waiting to board the MRT.
Looking hot! Soon to be wife Miley Cyrus must be very proud of him.
The Australian born actor signed to be the newest international endorser of Bench according to Ricardo Lo's column in PhilSTAR last Saturday. He reported and I quote:
Confirmed: Bench has just enlisted Liam Hemsworth as its newest endorser.
The deal came on the heels of the brand’s recent acquisition as models such A-list stars as Joe Jonas (who was a recent Manila visitor to drum up for Bench); Michael Trevino (of hit US TV series The Vampire Diaries); Hollywood actress Lucy Hale; and Korean superstars Dong Hae and Si Won (of Super Junior).
Bench has just also signed up a K-Pop superstar (subject of a Funfare blind item last week) whose identity Funfare is not yet authorized to reveal. The STAR did a one-on-one with the guy in Seoul two weeks ago.
Bench boss Ben Chan was in L.A. last week to finalize the contract with Liam and supervise the pictorial for the Bench posters and billboards.
Now, do you think Liam is coming to the Philippines to personally endorse the brand? I wonder.
This is terrible. I think I am showing signs of blog hiatus.
Actually, I am trying my best to avoid that.
I have a lot of backlogs and I am very much eager to finish them all.
If only there are 25 hours a day. Haha. What am I saying? Ufff.. never mind.
Here is another shameless OOTD post! :P
Oh no, kimono! I love this piece so much. Light and versatile.
What I wore: kimono from Robinson's Dept. Store,
Forever 21 tank top and Collezione shorts from Istanbul.
One of the shows that I attended during the last day of Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2012 is Unica Hija. The fashion show was not held at the SMX Convention Center. Instead, it was at The Atrium in Mall of Asia. Sarah Geronimo and Ford supermodel Charo Ronquillo walked the runway, so it was totally entertaining even for mall shoppers. Here's my photo coverage.
Picture perfect 'cause Sarah G. just looked at me.
Another girl crush.. it's Charo Ronquillo.
Key item: paper bag shorts
I love the orange quilted clutch.
Key item: black pumps with gold cap toes
I want those pink jeans! Like totally!!
That pink blouse too!!!
Sarah G. walked gracefully. Nice shoes!
So how do you like orange on orange?
Must-haves for the holidays: mustard dress and color-blocking shoes.
Lucky to get a perfect spot for taking runway photos with the fabulous Jing Javier.
Think I'm already done posting about Philippine Fashion Week? No. That's because I still have lots of photos from the fashion shows I attended. Here's some from Happy Andrada under VISIONS & TRENDS Collection. I know I just have to make a separate post on this one. The pieces are just so beautiful! Enjoy!!
Apparition. At first, I thought the dog is alive. So silly me! :)
This is kinda spooky. The model's makeup and the skull? :/
This dress is a reminder of a piece from Marc Jacobs' collection for Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2012.
What they did with the shoes and tights is interesting.
Oppss.. sorry for the blur photo, but the jacket/cape here is really nice.
Now I'm planning to put on grunge fashion.

Cory Lee - Fashion Show. I am now listening to this. Her floral dress is so cute. With her makeup, she looks like a cross between Kim Kardashian and Nicole Scherzinger. Play the video!
I love accessories. I don't normally load myself with lots of necklaces or bracelets. However, I can't go out without a pair of earrings and a watch at least. I know it sounds a little crazy. Some people like me just act that way. I would feel incomplete when I go out not wearing any accessory. Gosh, I don't sound normal but I am sure there is a scientific term for that.
Anyway, let's get down to business now. Here are some accessories from Accents, an online store that sells fashionable necklaces, bangles, earrings, etc. in an affordable price. Thanks to the sweet owner of Accents for being one of the sponsors for my birthday giveaway. You are awesome! :)
Prizes at stake: 2 bib necklaces, python-printed bangle, chandelier earrings, hoop earrings and cross bracelet. Get a chance to win all of these by following the steps below.
I thought I could just stay at home and rest yesterday because it was the Philippine Independence Day, but I received a text message that my goodies from Complex Lifestyle Store in Eastwood Mall were all ready for pick up. The day was a bit rainy and windy so I came up with an outfit that suits the weather and the National Day at the same time.
At the fire exit of our building.
I wore colors from the Philippine flag-- red, white, blue and yellow.
It was nearly 5 o'clock in the afternoon.
Those yellow jeans are from SM and Zara bow flats from Istanbul.
It was getting dark. I just had to fill this photo with light.
My sailor cardigan is from Landmark, while the blue tank top is from Forever 21.
Feeling patriotic in these colors.
Bangles from a bazaar in Star Mall and gift from a college friend.
Then, I borrowed this red headband from my daughter.
It is simply beautiful. I'm sure Snow White will agree with that.
I love this photo. I look fresh and at least, my eye bags are less visible.
Hey.. someone please remind me of my age!
