This is How I Exercise

My favorite exercise used to be tae bo, something I learned from my PE teacher in college. Basically, tae bo is an aerobic exercise which is a combination of taekwondo and boxing. Since college, I most of the time used tae bo plus some stomach crunches to burn down calories. It worked for me esp. after giving birth. However, I changed my exercise when I saw Jim Saret of The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition, training one of the contestants with this 20 minute metabolic exercise. I liked it a lot that from then on, I used it together with reverse crunch to trim down extra weight. No need to go to the gym!

The 20 Minute Metabolic Exercise

1. Jumping Jacks

2. Sumo Squat

3. Reverse Squat

4. Push Up

5. Planking

NOTE: Do exercises 1 to 4 for 4 minutes each. With exercise 5, try to hold as long as you can. The longer you do it, the more you feel the tightening sensation in your belly area. It is best to do this exercise during the morning or daytime.

The Reverse Crunch
Again, I learned this exercise from a TV show. This is from Moi, Piolo Pascual's personal assistant, in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown. On one of the episodes, Moi was shown teaching this exercise to her fellow castaways. She even revealed that this is the exercise behind Papa P's sexy abs. I normally use this exercise before going to sleep.

  1. I can't do push ups sis, hehehe! I am a weakling :(

  2. I've been trying to do most of these and I'm having difficulty doing a full pushup. Arghhh.

  3. Have been hearing a lot about the ab workout you get from planking, I should try it some time.

  4. Haven't done any exercise for the longest time, am too lazy...haysss! But the routines here seem easy except #4, I'll try this soon. Thanks for sharing. :)

  5. Oh yes, I saw a news item about this before, but I forgot to jot down and I wasn't able to remember all the exercises. At my weight, I still can't do pushups, but I will try my hardest to do it - I have to eh. :) Will bookmark this for reference.

  6. used to do those too except the planking...

off topic...grabe mga tao talaga sa HK noh. ang rude talaga! second time ko dun. the first time we were with a Chinese friend so he did all the talking for us at 2 nights lang kame nun. pero left on our own, nakita ko sama ng ugali nila. hayyy. babalik lang talaga ako dun para magshopping. btw, di ba ang sale is july august?

  7. @Cherry: July-August nga sis! Mali pala ako. Hehe.

Year 2002 pa kasi ang first and last experience ko ng shopping festival sa HK. Last year February din, nag-HK tour kami pero hindi ako nag-shopping. Strict ang budget that time cos we went to Turkey the next month.

  9. I used to do those. But, now I find it difficult to do the push ups and the planking. I can feel the tension in my arms and chest
