It's Greener Here!

Hello ladies! Are you done with Christmas shopping? All gifts under your tree? As for me, I am yet to buy more gift items and wrap those that I already bought. The month of parties and various events is almost and I know I better hurry. In fact, I am hosting a party this coming weekend. My college friends are coming and though we agreed on a potluck, I still feel like cooking a complete meal. So, good luck to me.

My 3 yo daughter and I to the Top Moms Tea Party by OFF and Nuffnang Philippines!

She's getting taller everyday.

What I wore: WWW sunnies, gold necklace, bag and belt from Istanbul, white tank from Forever 21, green cardigan from Landmark, Penshoppe cargo pants, and Parisian wedges.

That day at the tea party, the host was OFF! endorser and TV anchor Susie Entrata-Abrera. She is pretty in person and girl.. I envy her slim figure. And oh by the way, I think I saw former actress Ana Roces at the nearby grocery yesterday morning. She looked thinner but still gorgeous even without makeup and less styling. While shopping at SM Makati, I also spotted Cherie Gil together with a younger guy whom I don't know if he's her son or something. Cherie Gil is like a drama antagonist icon in Philippine showbiz. Too bad I was too shy to ask for a photo op. Tsk tsk!

The Dark Side of BUM

It was last Friday, November 25, 2011, that BUM finally revealed its dark side. Bea Binene, Dino Imperial, Empress Schuck and other local models walked the runway. The BUM Holiday 2011 Collection featured corset tops, distressed jeans, jacket and hoodies, ruffled mini skirts and sheers. Check my photo coverage below.

Bea Binene, Dino Imperial and Empress Schuck

That corset top is cute.

So teeny? Or tweeny?

I like those tights.

Rock on!

Looking forward to own a pair of those jeans.

With fellow fashion and lifestyle bloggers.
Thanks to Joy for this photo.

Now, for the dark side of this event. You know, I am a considerable person and I don't usually complain on blogger events to which I participated in. However, this fashion show said to start at 6 PM. I came to the venue around 5:20. I though I better be there a little ahead of schedule to have enough time chatting with fellow bloggers, checking all the fashionable people and taking photos. It was all a mistake. People came later than 6 o'clock and the fashion show started at 7:20!

So far, in my entire blogging career, no offense to the production and the rest of the people behind BUM, this event was the worst that I attended. The bloggers were seated at the farthest row, one blogger was even treated unfairly, and the show started very late. It made the early birds and those who came on time very hungry.

You know I have been to the Philippine Fashion Week a number of times that's why I can't help comparing. At PFW, shows starts on time and finishes on time. Invited bloggers are treated fairly. They are usually sitting together with people from media, if not at the front row, well at least at the second or third row. That's what we bloggers are for. We need a good angle to cover the show properly. Plus, bloggers are usually treated with a light snack before or after the show. Lastly, bloggers are given fabulous giveaways.

Sale Find: Red Hot Genuine Leather Wallet

Our family went to Metro Market Market for shopping and dining last weekend. Before going there, I already knew what I wanted to buy so after a bit of Christmas shopping, I visited the stores where I could possibly get a red wallet. I checked Riviera at the department store and Our Tribe, but I didn't see any design that I really like. Luckily, I passed by a Vedasto stall and chanced on this red hot wallet with a simple design.

It has enough room for my cards, coins and bills. It is handy and light. I did not get a big discount for it, just 10% off, but I consider it a great deal thinking that it is made out of genuine leather. I love my new wallet!

Life is a Beach

And so my two week vacation is already over. I'm back to my city life again. If you ladies still don't know, I am a probinsyana or a girl from the province. I was born and raised in Tablas, Romblon. Last November 9 to 23, I had the chance to visit my family and relatives, and for the first time, frolicked in the most beautiful beach of the island. I am starting to miss the place so I am posting some of my vacation photos here.

This is what we call Bonsuran Beach in Gin-awayan, Ferrol.

That fantastic tiny island is just a few steps away.

Green hills, long beach line, clear water, and footprints in the sand.

Shadow of beauty.

Some rock formations at the tiny island.

There is beauty everywhere.

I know you are falling in love too!

I am definitely going back. Maybe this summer!

Sunday Best

Hello ladies! What do you usually on a Sunday? As for me, I started going to church again lately. In fact, this is what I wore to church two Sundays ago. Hubby was busy that day and he couldn't bring us to chapel nearby, so my daughter and I had to commute. As usual, I used flat shoes instead of heels.

What I wore: red top with puffy sleeves from Landmark, tights, belt and black and white skirt from SM, Zara flats, Paris Hilton Timeless Chihuahua flap bag, Guess watch and earrings from Forever 21.

I am currently on a 2 week vacation in my province in Romblon. That means, I can't go to church for two consecutive Sundays. Too bad my church do not have a branch in my hometown yet. Till next time!

Favorite Fashion Icon: Katie Holmes

Hello ladies! How are you all doing? I am off for a short vacation today and won't be back until the third week of November. For now, let me share one of my favorite fashion icon. It's Katie Holmes, the beautiful wife to Tom Cruise!

In a cream trench coat.

Wearing a dress from Holmes & Yang line.

Androgynous in those trousers.

In a navy blue Arven dress.

Just love that animal-printed scarf.

Do you like Katie Holmes too? From the photos above, which look do like best? Have a nice day everyone! Muah!

What's your favorite brand of flip-flops?

In a tropical country like Philippines, one should be wearing flip-flops or slippers most of the time. I remember the Nikon slippers for girls and Rambo slippers for boys when I was in grade school. In college, they were replaced with alpombra and Islander. Because of globalization, more choices came like Havaianas, Crocs and iPanema.

Now for the question about which brand do I consider my favorite, it is honestly iPanema. I bought my first pair last year for our Palawan trip. I chanced on a brown and white combination which was that time 40% off the regular price at Robinson's Pioneer. I didn't buy a new pair after that because they're still in a very good condition.

Last week, I decided to finally get a new pair of iPanema flip-flops. This time, I bought it from Bambu in Glorietta Makati. There in that outlet, they have a huge selection of slippers and sandals of unique designs and colors.

I had a crush on 3 different pink slippers but I ended up buying this floral and studded one. This design is called iPanema SOLAR. I had my pair in size 6 just perfect for my 2 week vacation to the province this week. Will post photos of me wearing them next time. See ya!

Copy Kate

I know I was not really thinking when I said I don't consider Kate Middleton as a fashion icon. She's just undeniably stylish in a comfortable way and that's what I want to be. Well yes.. let's say trying to be. Hahaha. Anyway, I have created looks for less of the Duchess of Campbridge so I guess it's time to copy her style.

This is what I wore to the cinema in the afternoon of October 29, 2011. Hubby and I, together with our 3 year old daughter watched Puss in Boots.

In the evening, off I went to the SMX Convetion Center for the Philippine Fashion Week.
Notice that during the day, I wore my Zara flats and Secosana bag but replaced them with Parisian pumps and Paris Hilton shoulder bag for the fashion event.

Anne Taylor polka dot top, jacket from Surplus Store, belt and ring from Landmark, denim jeans from SM Dept. Store, Fossil watch, and earrings from Turkey

A photo op with media and blogger friends before the iPanema Spring Summer 2012 show.

Another photo op after the show.

Now for inspiration: cream jacket, denim jeans, ruffled top and polka dots. Hmmm.. did you like it? :)

Spotted at the Philippine Fashion Week

This is not my first time to attend the Philippine Fashion Week, but I still get starstruck everytime I see local fashion icons and other celebrities. So far, the most memorable was being at the front row when I got to see models and celebrities very closely. For PFW last week, the fashion blogger that I am went back to the second row (media spot). Not bad at all because I was still able to take good photos.

Preview's Fashion Editor, also fashion icon, Daryl Chang.

male models

Heart Evangelista's Brapanese boyfriend, Daniel Matsunaga.

Again, Daniel with one of my blogger friends.

Lastly, that's me with PBB's Tom Mott.

I also spotted Sarah Meir together with her husband and daughter at the front row. Too bad the photo I took was blurry. They came later, probably when the show already started, so I didn't notice them moving to the front row. Paolo Bediones and Princess Manzon also attended the event, but I have no pictures of them.
