In preparation for chilly nights in Istanbul, I bought this knitted black and white striped pullover like 3 weeks ago. Shopping in Manila is cheaper than any country that I know, that's why as much as possible, I'd rather shop at home rather than buy abroad the stuff that I'll be needing during my trip.
Hello ladies! Greetings from Bahrain! After 10 hours of travel, I am here waiting for our connecting flight to Istanbul. Just 5 hours ago, the Bahraini immigration informed us upon arrival that roads to the city are closed. Hence, there is no way that we can stay in Gulf Gate Hotel. Too bad we have to wait for 12 hours here in the airport. That's me, my husband and 2.5 year old daughter. Oh la, 7 more hours to go. Wahhh!
Anyway, I received a couple of messages regarding the comment form. Thank you for taking time to send me message. I am so sorry to tell you that I can't fix the problem yet. I should wait until I arrive Turkey. Really sorry.
This pair of jeans looks like the Balmain Denim Biker Jeans, which is also looking like a combination of the Moto Jeans and Rocker Jeans by Victoria's Secret. I've been looking for this kind of jeans for a while. Found it at Penshoppe in a sale price just over 2 weeks ago. I know this is from last year's trend, but I think it's a good deal so I grabbed it anyway.
Do you read Vogue magazine? I don't. I am not into high fashion. I simply can't afford it. Today, I was just amazed to hear about Rihanna's acceptance of her figure. I mean, I am happy to hear about people being happy about how they look (even there are flaws). The award-winning actress revealed and quoted saying this, "Over the holidays...I realized that I actually like my body, even if it’s not perfect according to the book," says Rihanna (who must have a different book than we do). "I just feel sexy. For the first time, I don’t want to get rid of the curves. I just want to tone it up. My body is comfortable, and it’s not unhealthy, so I’m going to rock with it."
Vogue Diaries Report: It's been quite a year for Rihanna. Not only has the singer put out a new album and picked up a Grammy, she also looks as though she's in the best shape of her life. Our April cover girl talked exclusively to Vogue.com about getting that rock-star physique, finding fashion that works for her figure, and learning (however slowly) to love her body.
Shame on me. This is a long overdue post. Sorry guys. Spotted at Newport Cinemas during last month's launching of AXN's Blue Bloods are a number of local and international celebrities. I was there, invited to cover the event so I naturally took photos of them and with them. Let me share.
First off, there was Mr. Mario Dumaual of ABS-CBN who came to interview Amazing Race Asia's The Riches.
I mean, Richard and Richard of team Philippines, also Season 2's winner.
I also (finally) met sweetheartsHannah Villasis of Flair Candyand Vince Golangco of When in Manila. Vince is a dj for Mellow 94.7 and same with Hannah, is also a host for Tek Tok TV.
And who doesn't know Niccolo Cosme? Here he is with me. Look at that genuine smile.
If you are t-shirt and jeans type of girl, I think you'll also like these sneakers. In my my case, gone are the days that I sported Chucks, so I did not buy a pair of these lookalikes even they were the cheapest.
This diet temptation is one of hubby's favorite. I bought a chocolate cake from a local grocery last Sunday, but he complained about it's texture. He is now requesting for me to make another graham cake. He loves the creamy and watery texture of no bake cakes so after he finishes this graham cake, next in line is the fruity cream cake. The one we always see in a canned mixed fruits commercial.
2 whole peaches, sliced thinly
1 cup of condensed milk
1 cup of heavy cream, chilled
10 pcs chocolate cookies, crushed
15 pcs graham crackers, crushed finely
1 cup cooked white gelatin, done according to package direction
-In a bowl, combine condensed milk and heavy cream. Set aside.
-In a square Pyrex baking dish, spread the crushed graham and cookies, then top with slices of peaches. -On top of the peaches, pour some cream and milk mixture.
-Do the second layer by spreading crushed graham and cookies again, followed by slices of peaches, and topped with cream and milk mixture.
-Repeat the same process until there is just enough space for the jelly and the last batch of sliced peaches.
-Chill and serve. Makes 6 servings.

Remember my post on a DIY ribbon and chained coin necklace? I was not able to use it a lot, so I decided to create another design which I think, can be worn in a more fashionable way. Dyaaraannn!! Now I can wear it pretty well with any basic top like this navy one from Forever 21.
Because of the ribbon, the simple chained coin necklace became fab. The ribbon I used is thin, but I have an option of replacing it with something thicker. Ribbons with any color will do too. I'm thinking of pink next time.
NOTE: If you have a question on how to make this simple project, just drop me a comment below so I can get back on you later.
I have a combination skin. My face is oily all over, except for the forehead, which is dry. My skin color is not even too. It changed in high school when I used certain cream to treat a facial allergy. The allergy vanished, but my smooth forehead became darker, shiny and dry. Thanks goodness I was able to discover this wonderful beauty product, the Maybelline Clear Smooth Mineral Liquid Foundation!
It helped me hide my uneven skin color, so I consider it as the perfect foundation for me. Unlike the powder foundation, application of a liquid foundation is very easy. Plus, it is very light to wear even all day and no problems with caking too.
This BEFORE and AFTER photo of mine is unedited. Check my natural face on the left with a noticeably darker forehead. Compare it with the photo on the right taken after the application of liquid foundation. We have a total winner, right?
I like this latest buy of mine a lot. It is form-fitting, has a foldover waistband and flared legs, plus an affordable price. I did not expect to be able to find what I exactly wanted to buy when I went to Forever 21 last Saturday. I lifted it in a rack with a yellow tag, so I think it is a marked down item.
photo from the website
Sale Find: Foldover Athletic Pants (navy color)
Sale Price: P385
Original Price: $8.50 based on Forever21.com
Sale From: Forever 21 Megamall
Considering the fact that I bought this item from a local store, I guess the price is already worth it even the online price is cheaper. It's for real time shopping and no shipping fee, right?
If you are a big fan of Forever 21 Philippines, I guess you'll recognize who this girl is. I was shopping for a new pair of jazz pants and a basic tee when I saw her. I was already in the queue towards the counter to pay my loot when I spotted her standing before one cashier, waiting for her transaction to be done. I was like, wait this is Patricia Prieto, one of the ambassadors! After paying, I had to stand by and confirm from one of the salesladies if it was really her.
Pls. excuse my eye bags. I need to find a way to get rid of 'em!
Next thing I know, I was taking my camera out and asking her for a photo. Thanks to her little sister who volunteered to snap us a picture. That was super sweet. Really.
I salute girls who are driven and talented just like Patricia Prieto, that's why I followed her blogs since her appearance as one of Forever 21's ambassadors. In her recent post, she wrote and I quote:
Btw, for the first time in my life someone approached me today in Forever 21 to ask for a photo with me, it totally made my day!! THANK YOU!! :D
And here is a screenshot of my comment together with her reply, taken from itspatriciaprieto.com.
You know, I don't always drop a comment everytime I stumble upon her blog. I usually just scan and check her photos. From now, I think I will regularly visit and write more comments.
This is not a good news. I know not only the designers themselves, but a lot of fans and supporters, including those people who already bought tickets for the event are feeling really bad about this. The RISQ Grand Summer Fashion Show was originally scheduled today, March 4, 2011, at the World Trade Center. However, due to "lack of funds" as per Indios Bravos Multimedia, this event will no longer push through.
What a mess! I was supposed to watch this show if not because a another event that I already engaged myself with. Anway, shame on Indios Bravos Multimedia. I think they have some explaining to do. Not to mention, pay all the people involved at this show for the damages it caused them.
I met Miss Hannah last month at AXN's Launching of Blue Bloods in Resorts World Manila. I did not expect to see her that day, but prior to our meeting, I already asked her to be featured as Pinay in Pink (which she gladly approved). We visit and drop comments to each other's blog though. Honestly, I really like her because she is inspiring and truly is "more than a pretty face".
Name: Hannah Rika Villasis
Status: In a Relationship :P
Weight: 110 lbs
Language Spoken: Ilonggo, Tagalog, English
--- PML: You seem to be very healthy. Are you a fan of vegetables? How do you keep in shape? Hannah: I hated vegetables because my mom forced me to eat them when I was a kid. But, I am a health freak and as I grow up, I introduced vegetables to my diet. I keep in shape by dancing, going to the gym and joining marathons :)
PML: What fashion style are you into now?
Hannah: I love Japanese fashion so I'm into that. I love boots, sweaters and blazers, but I can't wear them here in the Philippines so I find an excuse to dress them when I travel :) I also love dresses and wedges. Inspiration Spice Girls, Katy Perry and Blake Lively.
PML: Clothes, jewelry, shoes or bags? Choose one and why.
Hannah: Clothes. No wait, shoes... crap It's so hard to choose! I must say clothes.. I like dressing up and it usually depends on my mood :)
PML: You have thousands of Facebook fans for Flair Candy.Com. Wow, how did you get a flair for blogging and where do you get your inspiration?
Hannah: I started blogging out of boredom from my previous day job. I didn't bother with fans, page views and the stats. I just love to share. Then, I get emails and thank-you notes from my readers. It always pushes me to do more and to blog more. I want to empower women to do more than the usual and to become what they want to be.
PML: Accounting, blogging, hosting, and now modeling, which job do you like the most? Why?
Hannah: Blogging :) I am myself always when I'm blogging. And, it is with blogging that people / brands / companies discovered me and it opened opportunities for modeling, hosting, become their brand endorsers and even acting. I loved my work before as a financial analyst too. I just felt that I can do more and so I explored the world of the digital.
PML: Just one common interview question. How do you see yourself 5 years from now?
Hannah: I can never tell for sure what's ahead. There are so many things I am not in control of, so I just seek opportunities and grab them when I see it. One thing I want to still be doing though is to blog. And for my blog, I want to go international. I started that way anyway. I made friends from Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Vietnam because I didn't know that the Philippines has many bloggers here too. I made friends worldwide and because of that, I was sent on an international blogger's trip to cover an event. It was very fun meeting bloggers from other countries. In 5 years, I hope to see myself in New York covering Fashion Week, or in Hawaii somewhere surfing. I also bought a sewing machine because I want to make costumes for myself so cosplaying and designing my own line would be awesome. But you know, you never can predict. Five years before, I never thought I'd be doing what I'm doing now. I thought, I would still be doing accounting and getting old.
Also, if I get rich because of what I'm doing (as of now, it's barely paying the bills) I would pick a charity to focus my advocacy and it is either (or both) something that involves women's rights or for the environment.
I've been looking for one nice bag. I thought I would settle with a Coach purse. I changed my mind when I realized that all those branded items that I bought these past few years just faded easily. Why? Because they are not made out of a genuine leather.
While window shopping last weekend, I saw a local brand called Our Tribe. I've been to their store before, but during that time, I was not in the mood to buy authentic leather stuff. Last Saturday, I saw that they are selling fashionable pieces of leather goods like shoes and bags in affordable prices. I just checked their Multiply site and found these beautiful items on display too.
brown tote - P6,595
orange handbag - P3,005
chocolate purse - P4,500 ( I like! )
pink hobo - P4,850
Our Tribe has a store in SM Megamall. I am not sure if they have branches in all SM Malls though. For more photos of their leather goods, visit their Multiply site OurTribeShop.Multiply.Com.
They also accept orders. Just email email@example.com and cc firstname.lastname@example.org.
For those who are interested to visit their outlet store, they are open from Mondays thru Saturdays, 10 AM to 7 PM. Below is the address.
It is easy to spot an fake bag, but how about jewelry? Look at this fake Bvlgari TONDO "Sun" pendant. The story behind these photos is a little frustrating so, I won't share it anymore. What's important is that I proved its inauthenticity before anyone could purchase it through the help of some salesperson at Bvlgari Greenbelt.
A fake Bvlgari TONDO "Sun" big pendant.
This is the authentic TONDO "Sun" big pendant. 1.70" (4.30cm) diameter. Made from 18 karat yellow gold and steel. Available at BVLGARI.COM for $1,550.
Spotting the Difference Between a Fake Bvlgari Jewelry & the Original One
1. Check the logo. Noticed any difference in size of the letters? 2. Inspect the material used. Does it look like real gold? Not tarnished? 3. Check the size and weight of the jewelry. It might be smaller or lighter. 4. Packaging. Does it come with a box or papers to verify its authenticity? 5. Ask for the price. Fake ones are usually cheaper.

Hello ladies! I am now an official retailer of Veejay Floresca's wedding gowns. From now on, you may contact me for your wedding and entourage needs. Do I sound truthful here? Haha. I AM JUST KIDDING. I am not in anyway connected with Veejay, okay? I am just a fan of the famous local couturier. Look, I learned that Veejay Floresca is selling this beautiful, beautiful wedding gown for P50,000. He is doing this for a good cause, so I am helping to spread the news.
You know, I once dreamed marching the aisle in a Veejay Floresca gown, but decided to go with a cheaper alternative. If you are a 2011 or 2012 bride and don't have a gown yet, please check Veejay's gown. You might as well like it.
Interested? Contact Veejay Floresca by telling him you saw his gown over at PINKMAGALINE.COM and you wish to purchase it. Thanks!
I like hearing about successful diets and exercise, but I cringed a bit when I read about Lovi Poe's story a week ago. Whatever she did to lose weight, congrats to her cause it worked. Just check her first Cosmopolitan Philippines cover below. What do you think, hot or not?
On Staying Hot,
Braving The Odds,
And Keeping Her Cool
You know, I don't have a monthly subscription of any local magazine because I don't think getting each and every copy is worth it. They sometimes recycle photos and articles and unlike other countries, magazines here in the Philippines don't come with fab freebies. So, with Cosmo's March issue, I am yet to decide whether to buy it or not.
