What I Wore to the MMFF Awards Night

I thought I'll have a hard time choosing what to wear to the 37th MMFF Awards Night. When I checked my closet after my friend told me about the event, I thought of wearing this Forever 21 lace dress right away. I bought it last year but never had a chance to wear it. This year isn't about laces anymore but it's an LBD so who cares, right?

Striking a pose at the exit of Newport Performing Arts Theater.

What I Wore:
-Forever 21 lace dress and gold bangles
-earrings, scarf used a shawl and bag from Istanbul
-shoes and tights from SM
-Guess watch

I tried to do smoky eye look for the first time.
I think it was not that "smoky" really. So I failed. Hihi!

With the lovely and glittery Jing Javier.
Thanks again for inviting me to this event girl! :)
Also thanks to Nora Aquino of More Than Just a SAHM for the photos!!

Time to say goodbye to 2011 and say hello to 2012.
This year was not the happiest year because of all the tragedies that hit our country,
but at least, we learned to be strong and carry on.
May God continue to bless us and help us in times of trouble and needs.
Keep safe and stay out of trouble everyone.
Happy New Year!!!

Gold Rush

Hey ladies, just one day more before the New Year!
Are you excited for 2012?
Did you prepare a New Year's resolution?
I have goals for the upcoming year, but I won't list them into a resolution.
I'll keep those goals to myself and just talk about them once reached and realized.
Anyway, I just bought myself a tiny bottle of glittery gold nail polish.
I thought it would be nice to follow the current nail trend.

This Caronia nail polish is labeled Gold Rush frosted.
It is available in drugstores and groceries for only P29.25 or less than a dollar.

A beautiful shade of gold.

I wore this color to the Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night.

This could be the perfect nails to match this outfit right HERE.

It made me feel rich. Haha!

The 37th Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night and Winners

I was honored to get an invitation to the 37th Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night held at Resorts World Manila. A friend from the print media made it possible for me to witness MMFF for the first time. It was just an awesome and humbling experience so I am excited to share.

How to Check if Leather is Genuine or Not

I know most of us cannot tell the difference between genuine leather and faux leather. Personally, I once had a mistake of buying a bag which I thought was genuine leather because it was well-made. The experience was disappointing, like you expected you could use your bag a little more but it was already worn out after a year. So, let me share my small knowledge about leathers for you ladies out there who are a little confused.

A leather coat from Istanbul.
How to tell if it is genuine leather or faux leather?
Here's how.

Of course you should choose an area which is not quiet visible.
Like this inner zipper part of my Teha' Amana mustard bag.
I burned it using a lighter. The color just faded a bit.

Can you even recognize if this part of my Parisian leather shoe was burned?

Here's the bottom of my INCI hobo bag. I scratched it and again, only the color faded.

And, for the bag which I thought was genuine leather.
I burned the strap and scratched it.
Whoa, did you see that?
It is looking ugly!
Now you know how to tell if the item you bought is genuine leather.

Some added tips:
-Try to be acquainted with genuine leather's odor.
-Faux leathers have this strong "factory" smell.
-Look for the GENUINE LEATHER print when buying leather.
-Genuine leather goods are usually sold in a higher price.
-They are handcrafted very well.

If you know more tips, please share it to me! :)

Holiday Outfit Inspirations

Christmas is over but there is another holiday coming. Have you decided on what to wear this New Year yet? Lookie here, I created some holiday outfit inspiration through Polyvore.

Silent Night, Glittery Night

Outfit Inspiration #1 Silent Night, Glittery Night. This season, the trend is all about glitters and sequins, so I included pieces that are shining and shimmery. Perfect for parties eh?

Wholesome Sexy

Outfit Inspiration #2 Wholesome Sexy. At least, you have something to wear to church. Not daring and showing lots of flesh but still very much lady-like. Besides, our Chinese friends love wearing red for the New Year, right?

Vintage Barbie

Outfit Inspiration #3 Vintage Barbie. My daughter and I will be attending a themed party this New Year. It's gonna be Vintage Barbie with colors black and pink only. I am thinking of wearing polka dots and mary janes. Hope it works.

Kimono Day

Outfit Inspiration #4 Kimono Day. You know I have this new kimono in my closet which is still waiting to be worn. Maybe I can wear it this way. What do you think?

All Red and Merry

How was your Christmas celebration? Did you ladies have fun? Mine was simple and traditional. This year, hubby and I decided to celebrate Christmas only in the city, so there was nothing special. I had sumptuous dinner with my family the eve before, went to church in morning and visited my relatives in the afternoon.

My daughter and I after church.
I wore my red bow tie dress from two years ago.

She also wore a red dress, paired with a DIY headband.
And again, say hello to my red frosted nails.

The most awaited moment.. opening of gifts!

The color of Christmas in the city.

Rockwell Center looks very lovely at night.

A lot of bad things happened this year and this month alone. People died during the typhoon Sendong and still a lot suffering from the lost of their loved ones, homes and properties. Clearly, this is not the happiest Christmas for everyone in the country. However, I believe that Christmas is here to remind us that Heavenly Father loves us so much and Jesus Christ came to earth to redeem us. Let us not all lose hope. Christmas can still be merry!

Jolina Magdangal and Mark Escueta's Wedding

I just can't resist this. I watched "I DO", Times Two! when they aired it on GMA 7 and it was really amazing. Jolina Magdangal and Mark Escueta first got married last November 19 in the presence of their closest friends and family. Their garden wedding took place in Tagaytay 2 days after. This lovely couples took very sweet photos, so I just wanna share my thoughts about it.

Playing hippies. Jolina's leopard booties look awesome.

I saw this girl in person and she's just pretty. Look at the butterflies on her boots! :)

Perfect pre-nuptial photo. I like their theme a lot.

Have you ever seen a fairy bride?

The Magdangals. Jolina resembles her dad.

Judy Ann Santos and Angelika dela Cruz among the guests.

Now, this is what we call true love.

I can see happiness within this couple.

And they lived happily ever after.

Pink MagaLine at the Suplado Show

I am not supposed to post this yet. I am still waiting for a copy of the video from the show. As you know, this guesting happened a week ago. I was invited by Miss Stef to The Suplado Show, an internet radio show hosted by Stanley Chi which is live every Monday from 9PM to 11PM through PinoyTuner.Com and You Tube. Well, I can no longer hold it, so I guess I'll just do another post when the video becomes available.

Vin, another blogger (sorry I forgot your name), Stanley Chi, me and Miss Stef..

the first set..

second set..

and third set.. ooppsss.. bad photo.. hihi!

me and Gelleesh..

It was a fun experience. Stanley Chi asked questions about blogging and blog monetizing, then we shared some blogging tips too. We had viewer participation while giving away some cool items. Most of all, I got to promote my blog or encourage viewers to visit, meet other bloggers and meet the people behind Dig Radio.

Again, thank you Miss Stef for the opportunity. More power to you and your team!

New Booties!

Don't we just love Christmas? More shopping and gift-giving? Woohooo.. I just feel like a kid! There are still 3 days before Christmas, but Santa already gave me a new pair of booties over a week ago. Okay, we don't have a chimney at home and I didn't get this gift near the fireplace. It was hubby who gave me shopping money to get myself whatever I like so thanks a lot to you hubby.. my dearest Santa!

It doesn't look anything like the one in my Christmas Wishlist, but I love it so much. The design is not complicated and the heel height is not too high. I bought this together with the Teha' Amana Mustard Bag. Actually, this is my first time to have a pair of shoes from Rusty Lopez. They said, Rusty Lopez shoes are made in Marikina, home of Philippine shoes, so I am expecting this to be sturdy even in an affordable price.
