The first Miss World Philippines 2011 is the 21 year old Gwendolyn Ruais who hails from Muntinlupa City. Gwendolyn Ruais competed as candidate #13. She is half Filipino, half French. Other winners are 1st Princess - Helen Nicolette Henson, 2nd Princess - Martha Chloe McCulley, 3rd Princess - Ma. Paula Bianca Paz, and 4th Princess - Jaysel Arrozal.
There were a total of 25 finalists who competed for the crown. The coronation was held at the PICC Plenary Hall and aired through GMA 7. Miss World 2010, Alexandria Mills, who traveled all the way to Manila, crowned Gwendolyn Ruais. As a winner, she received P1 million worth of cash and a condo unit from SMDC. She will be representing the Philippines in the 61st Miss World Pageant to be held in London this coming November 6, 2011.

The pageant was hosted by Dingdong Dantes, Carla Abellana, and Isabella Daza. Congressman and boxing champion Manny Pacquiao was one of the judges. Beauty expert Fanny Serrano, cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo, actress Iza Calzado, and GMA 7's Wilma Galvante were also part of the panel.

ReplyDeleteI think Helen Nicolette Henson was also the first runner up in Binibining Pilipinas 2010 which was won by Venus Raj.
