Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid's Wedding

Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid, the Songbird and her beloved songwriter, are tying the knot today December 22, 2010 at The Peak, Terazzas De Punta Fuego in Nasugbu, Batangas.

The wedding started at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Regine marched in her bright red Monique Lhuillier gown while the song "Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka" was played, followed by the cheering of the crowd. In her vow, Regine said she never felt so happy in her life, while Ogie mentioned, he'll be her Reginean, her Brad Pitt and Justin Beiber. Ins't that sweet and exciting?

GMA Network's coverage of this grand wedding entitled Duet to Forever will be aired on December 26, Sunday. I can't wait to watch it.

Body Shop's Moringa Milk Lotion

I love vegetables and one of my most favorite is malunggay or moringa. This time, I'll get to look good, feel nice and smell sweet with Body Shop's Moringa Milk Lotion. Isn't it cool to beautify yourself by not just eating veggies, but using beauty products with vegetables too?

This milk lotion is best to hydrate your skin due to the cold weather condition. Easily absorbed, thus it gives an instant moisturizing effect to skin. People with normal and dry skin alike may use this lotion. It helps soften and restore the skin's suppleness. What I love about this product is the floral scent. So nice that it smells like perfume. Buy and try it ladies. This will make a perfect gift for your girlfriends too!

So Yellow Gretchen Barretto

When I saw these photos of Gretchen at Female Network, I just had to say a big WOW. Check how expensive she looks. Clear skin, fine jewelry and accessories, fashionable clothing and a luxurious bag. Among the Barretto sisters, Gretchen is the most sophisticated and the most beautiful one.

Gretchen Barretto and her yellow Hermes Birkin bag

When I was in high school, I watched her film Paminsan Minsan (1992) and it became one of my favorites. You know, I am not really a fan but I like her. Come on, she is a beauty and obviously, no one can deny that, right? I just wonder what happens to her if she didn't meet Tonyboy Cojuangco. She could've married who? And, how about her relationship with the sisters? Hmmm. Nothing much.. just wondering. Now, let's check her yellow Hermes Birkin bag. How much do you think it costs? Any idea? Hihi.

Product Review: Hair Treats Hair Spa by Watson's

When I first saw a Watson's store in Hongkong back in 2002, I immediately fell in love with it because they sell affordable beauty products. I remember buying a very cute Watson's mineral water and a baby doll which is now my daughter's. Anyway, when Watson's opened in the Philippines, I was one of the happiest customer. What I usually buy from Watson's are toiletries like this hair cream.

The Hair Treats Hair Spa (lavender), winner of COSMO's Beauty Awards for 2010. I bought this product the other week while doing my Christmas shopping. I can't recall the exact price, but it was like buy one take one for less than P300. Of course, I had to try it immediately once I arrived home.

Judging from the photos, my rebonded hair obviously look better after the treatment. Now, I don't need to go to a salon every now and then. What I like about this product is its price. It also smells nice and my hair is darker. Will use it often to discover more of its benefits.

Gym Girl

Losing weight after giving birth can be a hard process esp. if you're not used to dieting and exercise. Since I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus during the last quarter of my pregnancy, my OB-Gyne asked me to exercise and follow healthy dieting. Of course, I didn't want to inject insulin and I wanted to give birth to a healthy baby girl so I tried my best.

sweating it all out..

Well, it's been over 2 years now. My baby is already a toddler, but I still have to trim down my post-pregnancy body. Some of you might think I already have a slender figure. No, I don't really have. I just know how to "breathe thin". Yes, I am a size 6, but my goal in going to the gym is to get rid of flabs in my arms and tummy area. The long term goal is to avoid diabetes which a part of my family history (both sides). Up there is a photo of me taken at the gym the other day after over an hour of work out. I started going to the gym again last week. I go from Monday to Friday and I leave Saturdays and Sundays as cheat days.

Basically, I do some sort of warm up before walking, jogging and running in a treadmill. After that, I do some crunches and muscle work out. Good for me that gym membership is free here in our community. The gym is small and crowded during the afternoon that's why I go only in the morning. Hoping to find a gym buddy to help me make my performance better, though. Most of all, looking forward to continue going to gym and later reach my goals.

Remember the black leatherette boots that I posted HERE? It was a tough decision because the leatherette boots was my first love. However, the slouchy boots are on sale and priced way cheaper. You know me, I always go for a cheaper deal, so I ended up going home with a black pair. I will feature it at Sale Finds later.

Just today, Forever 21 displayed the newly delivered flat slouchy boots in beige, brown and gray for only P775. A lot of girls are dying to have a pair, so go to Forever 21 now if you are just around the metro. This promo is up until supplies last. Happy shopping ladies!

Gift-giving Ideas and Tips

Did you finish your Christmas shopping ladies? Or are you still looking for a fab item to give your bff? You know looking for an ideal gift to please your bestfriend, sister or any female friend can be a little stressful.

Here's a photo of some pink stuff that I received from friends this year. A friend gave me Clinique eye shadows in a pink case and a pink jewelry holder. Another friend game me that pink coin purse. Aren't they cute and cool enough?

FIVE THINGS TO CONSIDER IN BUYING GIFTS

1. Budget - How much do you want to spend for a single gift? Are you willing to pay $50 or up? Think of buying a gift within your budget. Don't force yourself from buying something that is way too expensive or out of your budget. Wait for the sale period if your budget is tight.

2. Personal style of the recipient - Is she stylish or feminine? Does she like kinky items? This thing also depends on her age, affiliation, etc. For example, a sporty person might be interested with a new pair of jogging pants or a workout gadget. So, know the recipient well and think of something she will really like. Talk to her and try to check her wishlist.

3. Availability of the product that you wish to give - She might be asking something exotic or unique. You are lucky if it is readily available even at the grocery or drugstore. These days, beauty products and women accessories can be bought even at your nearest supermarket.

4. Online or offline? - Shopping online can be very convenient, but be careful with bogus stores and the "no return, no exchange policy". Shop at trusted online stores only. Meanwhile, shopping at the mall requires planning. The malls can be very crowded during holiday sales. Better yet, go shopping in a weekday to avoid overcrowded stores.

5. Cash or credit card? - Buying gifts using cash will surely make you free from debt after the holidays. Plus, it's hard to manage your finances using credit card esp. if you don't keep track of your every swipe. Spend wisely!

Pinay in Pink December 2010: Liz Venturina

This lady is multitalented, multilingual and always multitasking. Her big love for beauty is best expressd through make up and photography. Read more and get your monthly doze of inspiration from Liz of http://frillsandhighheels.blogspot.com/ the Pinay in Pink for December.

Name: Liz Venturina
Ethnicity: Filipino
Hometown: San Jose City, Nueve Ecija

Age: 28
Language Spoken: Filipino, English, German, Thai, basic Spanish
Height: 161 cm
Weight: 43 kgs.

PML: What do you do for a living?
Liz: I pretty much do the things I love and get paid for it. I am a makeup artist one day, a photographer the next. I also started designing clothes for a specific niche market (although I cannot go into details until everything has materialized).

PML: What's a day in your shoes like?
Liz: Stressful! Haha! I'm a pretty restive person and I spend most of my days trying to come up with new ideas and discovering new photography or makeup tricks. I am fond of multi-tasking too. I cannot function well if I only get to do one thing at a time.

PML: How do you spend your free time?
Liz: Nothing really fancy. I sing my lungs out, read books, cuddle my cats and play video games.

PML: What is your favorite vacation destination? Why?
Liz: Alsace, France. The place is full of charm and it's very serene. It's both simple and picturesque. Fresh crisp air, colorful cottages, cobbled streets... Everytime I'm there, I don't feel like going home anymore.

PML: If I were to walk down the aisle tomorrow, I'd be wearing...
Liz: Definitely NOT a traditional white wedding gown.

PML: What is the secret to a successful career?
Liz: You have to love what you do. Only then can you enjoy it and excel in it. For me, success is not measured by profit --- you can have a measly salary yet still be called successful if you are able find happiness at work and take pride in whatever it is you do.
