5 Simple Reasons Why I Don't Like Krispy Kreme

I mentioned HERE earlier that I am a Krispy Kreme virgin. Actually, I never tasted them in my entire life until a couple of weeks ago when hubby came with this lovely box of doughnuts from his brother's girlfriend.

There are a number of reasons why I don't like these sugar-coated treats while most of the people that I know adore them. In my opinion, they're very lovely to look at. However, the taste and texture are not really unforgettable.

Big thanks to my brother-in-law's girlfriend. I appreciate the gesture, so I hope you won't hit me after reading this. My eyes truly glowed seeing the gorgeous presentation of these donuts, but to be honest, I was disappointed after the first bite.

Here's an enumeration of the specific reasons why I consider myself not a big fan of Krispy Kreme:

1. Their version of my favorite donut flavor (chocolate) is not that soft nor chewy just like Mister Donut's.
2. Similar to Country Style Donuts, KK is loaded with too much sugar, and even worse.
3. KK donuts are expensive.
4. Unlike Mister Donut or Dunkin Donut, Krispy Kreme hava limited number of stores in the Philippines.
5. I don't think donuts like KK are healthy. I have history of diabetes, so I need to limit myself from eating sweets.

At home, I am not the only person who doesn't enjoy KK donuts. We all don't like them. In fact, the half-dozen in the photo waited over 4 days in the fridge. We were pushing ourselves to eat them like birds. We divided them into small pieces to get rid of the super sugary parts. Then, the last piece sadly landed in the trash.

Note:
This entry is not written to discourage fans of Krispy Kreme to stop buying. This is just my personal thoughts of the subject. Wink*

I spotted this watch at the Pure Gold Duty Free in Subic. I am not supposed to buy it, but I changed my mind when I saw its price. Guess I officially fell in love with duty free shops that very moment. Went to SM to check this exact design last week and learned that I just saved almost $50 with this item.

Honestly, I have been longing to buy myself a new watch and a charm bracelet. So now, I have the bracelet and the watch rolled into one. Thanks hubby! Muah.

Bb. Pilipinas International 2009 Melody Gersbach Died at 24

This must be the saddest moment in the history of Bb. Pilipinas. The Filipino-German beauty queen who hailed from Bicol, Melody Gersbach, died in a vehicular accident this morning, Saturday, August 21, 2010. Reports say that she and her companions were on board to Naga City to attend a local pre-pageant event when the accident happened around 11:30.

Gersbach was my personal favorite during the airing of Bb. Pilipinas 2009. I remember perfectly how she happily accepted her crown together with Pamela Bianca Manalo and Marie-Ann Umali on national TV.

She graduated from the University of Asia and the Pacific with a degree in Management. No wonder that the panel chose her to represent the country as Ms. International. A package of beauty and brains indeed, but it's all gone now. Rest in peace Ms. Gersbach. We love you!

Seize the Day

Hi ladies! Today, I am sharing to you a classic poem. Actually, one of my favorites in college. It talks about the importance of using time wisely. Hope you can relate and get inspired.

To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time
by Robert Herrick

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow will be dying.

The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The higher he's a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he's to setting.

That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer;
But being spent, the worse, and worst
Times still succeed the former.

Then be not coy, but use your time,
And while ye may, go marry:
For having lost but once your prime,
You may for ever tarry.

Sale Find of the Week: Figliarina Wedges

Women in general love to shop. We love to shop for sale items. We love mid-year sales. Clearance sales. All types of sales out there. From now on, I will try to post a sale find every week.

You know how much I love walking in wedges. Remember my Stella Wedges from Parisian? Similar colors huh? Anyway, this is my newest pair from the brand which Kris Aquino is the endorser, Figliariana, the sister brand of Figlia. They have lots of more fashionable items this season, but I had to settle with this very comfortable pair of wedges. Wedges are always fashionable anyway.

Nokia C3: The Ultimate Cellphone for Pink Lovers

This is the newest Nokia cellphone out in the Philippine market, the Nokia C3-00. It is available in hot pink color. Very much perfect for all the pink ladies out there, right?

Girl, this is like my dream cellphone! Aside from the pink color, I also love it because of its slim design, big screen, QWERTY keypad, fast Wi-Fi connection, 2 MP video camera, and radio. How come they didn't introduce EC3 before hubby bought me E63 a couple of months ago? Now I am wishing.
