Are you protected?

I was alarmed the first time that I saw this TV ad. And, everytime it was aired, it kept on reminding me of a very important task to do: to visit my OB GYNE and ask about the vaccine.

As a woman and a mother, I know I should protect myself in order to stay healthy for my family. I thought, if it's true that women are at risk of HPV infection throughout their sexually active lives, then I should be vaccinated.

A couple of months ago, I finally had my first shot of Cervarix® for less from my OB-GYNE! Thanks GSK for making cervical cancer vaccine more affordable and accessible to Filipino women. My whole arm hurt a lot, but it was all worth it, knowing the benefits of protection I can get. According to GSK, other symptoms after vaccination included pain, redness and swelling at the injection site, fatigue, fever, aching, headache, itching, rash or gastrointestinal disturbances. think I was lucky 'cos I did not experience any of them except for the pain at the injection site. Next week, I am about to get another shot of HPV vaccine again. That would be my second, then one more to go. My goal is to finish all three doses and be fully protected.

How about you? Aren't you planning to get vaccinated?

  1. hi sis... once cousin OB said, yung mga kompanya lang daw ng vaccine na to yung nagpapakaba sa atin ... in truth if you take care of your body in a natural way... exercise, healthy food no vice, hygiene, and healthy single sex partner .... malamang di ka magkacancer...

    dropping by sis...

  2. Good, women should be aware of the latest threat !! Thanks Jinke :)

  3. Never had that shot yet. I've been thinking of getting the vax pero lagi ko nakakalimutan. I should talk to OB soon. Thanks for the friendly reminder.

    Lots of love,

  4. how much ang 3shots ng vaccine sis?

  5. They give the vaccine free to school girls 13-18 here in New Zealand. It's awesome what medicine can do nowadays.

  6. nako! ang mahal naman kasi e... 3 sessions pa :(

Thanks for dropping by. Have a great day!
